GLH has launched its fifth brand, Thistle Express, with the opening of the Thistle Express Luton hotel, aimed at the value-conscious, modern traveller.
The 152-bedroom hotel offers fast, free Wi-Fi, bottomless tea and coffee and free breakfast for all guests, as well as smart TVs for guests to stream their own content in every bedroom, blackout curtains and Hypnos mattresses.
The free buffet breakfast offers a selection of hot food as well as lighter continental options of fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries. There is also no need to check out from the hotel.
Located in the town centre, near the Mall and overlooking St George's Square fountains, it is 10 minutes' drive from Luton Airport, and a 22-minute train journey from London King's Cross St. Pancras station.
Thistle Express joins the company's other brands: Guoman, Every, Thistle and Amba.
The 10-storey building has seen significant investment in its refurbishment, designed by architects Unwin Jones Partnership and carried out by Novus Property Solutions. The interior was designed by Faber.
The hotel's general manager, Sudeep Majumdar, said: "I am delighted to play a key part in the opening of Thistle Express Luton. We are looking forward to welcoming our first guests through the door and delivering great hospitality. "
Neil Gallagher, chief executive at GLH Hotels, said: "We are very proud to announce our new Thistle Express brand. Luton is a fantastic place to begin its story, with the hotel located just minutes from the UK's fifth busiest airport. We listened to our customers and responded to the demand for a value proposition with fantastic amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, which is crucial to all guests regardless of the purpose of their stay. Now we've put roots down in Luton, we'll be looking forward to the opening of Thistle Express Swindon later this year."
