A lunch delivery service has been launched to support the catering industry and those struggling with working from home due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The Genuine Dining Co has launched a service called Lunch Cubed – a weekly delivery of five lunches and 10 snacks to see home workers through the week.
The easy-to-prepare dishes cost £46.50 per weekly box and for every 20 boxes sold, the business will give one box to someone who is struggling with their mental health due to the continued Covid-19 restrictions forcing many employees to work from home.
Meals are made from local ingredients and include simple instructions that take less than 10 minutes to prepare. Dishes include halloumi fries soul bowl, Persian chicken shawarma flatbread and pho with rice noodles and veg, as well as sushi from Genuine Dining Co’s sister company Feng Sushi.
The initiative aims to save jobs within the hard-hit catering industry and its supply chain and is one of the many ways foodservice companies are pivoting to new revenue streams.
