The hotel is the sixth venue in Maybourne’s portfolio, which includes Claridge’s, the Connaught and the Berkeley.
Maybourne hotel group has opened its first new London property in 50 years – the Emory in Belgravia.
It is billed as London’s first suite-only hotel and is the sixth venue in Maybourne’s portfolio, which includes Claridge’s, the Connaught and the Berkeley.
The Emory features 61 suites, a restaurant from chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a wellness-focused members’ club, and a rooftop bar.
Suites vary from £1,620 per night and each stay includes chauffeur driven transfer from all London terminals and private airfields, daily English breakfast, an unpacking and pressing service on arrival, and use of the Emory house car.
Guests are also given complimentary access to the private Surrenne club, which focuses on wellbeing and is spread over four subterranean floors of the hotel.
The rooftop Bar 33 and the Emory Cigar Merchants are housed in two glass pavilions open only to hotel guests or by private invitation.
Designed by RSHP, the architects behind London’s Leadenhall building, the hotel features a metal rooftop ‘sails’ structure overlooking the treetops of Hyde Park.
Remi Tessier, known for his yacht and private jet interior designs, has designed the public spaces to evoke a sense of “intimacy and calm”.
All 61 suites are spread across nine floors and feature floor to ceiling glass windows, while a 300 sq m wraparound glass penthouse has been designed by Rigby & Rigby.
Vongerichten’s restaurant sits on the ground floor and is the first site to combine all three of his celebrated New York restaurants, abc kitchen, abc V and abc cocina. It features artwork by Damien Hirst and a menu showcasing sustainable produce and plant-focused dishes, tonics and cocktails.
The ground floor Emory bar features an iridescent glass canopy, a stained-glass installation by artist Brian Clarke, and retractable glass doors out onto a courtyard.
The Emory’s general manager Knut Wylde said: "We truly believe this discreet London landmark is offering something new and exciting to the current hospitality scene.
“With a heady combination of some of the world’s greatest architects and designers, the best food in town, and jaw dropping views from the rooftop bar, we can’t wait to welcome guests to the Emory.”
