The three-Michelin-starred restaurant said guests would not know what they were eating until they sat down.
Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck restaurant in Bray has launched a £150 mystery menu where all the dishes will be a complete surprise.
The three-Michelin-starred restaurant said details of the four-course meal would only be revealed when customers had taken their seats.
The Marvellously Mysterious Menu launched on 30 September and is available to book for parties of between four and six diners.
It is significantly cheaper than the Fat Duck’s regular tasting menus, which are priced between £225-£450 per person including VAT.
Blumenthal said: “At the Fat Duck, it’s not just about beautiful food, beautifully presented – though that’s certainly a big part of it.
“I believe that food can open your eyes and stir your emotions. It can expand your imagination in a way that is both exciting and inspiring. That’s why me and my team are constantly seeking new opportunities to bring the Fat Duck experience to as many people as possible, in as many ways as possible.
“The Marvellously Mysterious Menu is a chance for culinarily curious diners who are fans of innovation and immersive experiences to go on a unique three-star gastronomic adventure.”
The restaurant said booking links would only be shared through its social media channels or customer newsletters.
The Fat Duck was opened by Blumenthal in 1995 and holds three Michelin stars.
Karl Jacques was appointed head chef at the restaurant at the end of 2023, five years after joining as chef de partie in 2018.
