Ewan Venters has been appointed chief executive of Fortnum & Mason, leaving behind his current role as executive director for food, restaurants and online business at London department store Selfridges.
Venters takes up his new position at the Piccadilly retailer, which, like Selfridges, is owned by the Weston family, in August. He replaces Beverley Aspinall who left in May after seven years in the job.
Fortnum & Mason chairman Kate Hobhouse said: "Ewan's passion, expertise and fresh thinking will help take Fortnum & Mason into the next stage of growth."
Venters said he looked forward to using his experience to develop "Fortnum & Mason's multichannel ambitions".
