The Lowry hotel in Manchester has appointed Dave Ashton as executive chef of its River restaurant.
Ashton will replace Andrew Green, who left the hotel to open the Mamucium restaurant in the city at the end of last year.
Joining from Crewe Hall hotel and spa, Ashton plans to introduce new dishes to the hotel's classic menu which includes lobster macaroni cheese, whole Dover sole and the Lowry fish pie.
Ashton said: "I am thrilled to join the River Restaurant at the Lowry Hotel Manchester in my new role as executive chef. I hope to bring my new creative vision to the restaurant this year using the local and seasonal produce that the hotel is famous for and creating classic British dishes to a high standard."
