Bjoern Weissgerber has been appointed chef director of Sexy Fish restaurant in Mayfair.
Weissgerber was brought up in Lauf, Germany, where his parents owned a restaurant. He trained as an apprentice chef at Kurhaus Stueber'l in Waging am See, Germany, and undertaken stages at Thomas Keller's French Laundry in California and El Bulli in Spain.
He earned his first Michelin star at the age of 27 when he was running Ca's Puers in Mallorca, and has been setting up new restaurants all over the world for the Zuma Group for the past 11 years.
The 190-cover restaurant and bar opened in 2015 and was overseen by executive chef Ben Orpwood, who announced he was moving to head D&D London's Issho in Leeds last month. Caprice Holdings is owned by restaurateur Richard Caring, and also operates brands including the Ivy, J. Sheekey, Le Caprice, and Scott's.
