The 209-bedroom Apex City of London hotel has opened a new all-day dining restaurant as part of a wider £1.5m refurbishment of the property's public space.
The Lampery restaurant has been created in partnership with hospitality and events company Concerto. It is the first food concept to the created by Concerto following an agreement to run and develop food and beverage outlets at Apex Hotels' three London hotels.
The Lampery is named after the eel-like fish which features in the old-English dish lamprey pie, which is one of the dishes on the restaurant's Best of British menu, overseen by head chef Francesco Zanchetta.
Alongside the new restaurant, the refurbishment has also seen the addition of a spa with five treatment rooms and a spray tan booth, in conjunction with Pure Spa & Beauty.
Brian Tapson, general manager of Apex City of London Hotel, said: "We're thrilled to welcome guests to our new-look hotel. Following the addition of 30 bedrooms just two years ago, the refurbishment has transformed the hotel, with the inclusion of an indulgent spa and food offering that will appeal to locals as well as hotel guests."
Zanchetta added that the Lampery restaurant is "a perfect new destination for a celebration, an enjoyable dinner with friends or a snappy work lunch and we have plenty of plans in the pipeline for entertainment, including a music programme."
