AJ Capital Partners acquires Adelphi Portrush hotel in Northern Ireland

Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners has acquired the Adelphi Portrush hotel in Portrush, Northern Ireland.

It will be the sixth property to join Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, a collection of hotels located in premium golf destinations, including Rusacks St Andrews, Marine North Berwick, Slieve Donard in Newscastle, County Down in Northern Ireland and the Dornoch Station hotel in the Highlands, which was added in September.

The Adelphi Portrush hotel will continue to operate in its current condition until autumn 2023, at which point it will undergo comprehensive guest room and common space renovations. The hotel will relaunch as part of the collection in late 2024.

Portrush is situated an hour away from Belfast and is near Royal Portrush Golf Club, which is due to host the 2025 Open Championships.

Philip Allen, president of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, said: "The hotel is a fantastic addition to the portfolio, offering travellers premier access to world class golf courses and Giant's Causeway, a Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the most stunning geological features on earth.

"We're honoured to continue to grow our presence in Northern Ireland and thrilled that we'll have a fully renovated Adelphi Portrush hotel to showcase when the world of golf once again turns its eyes on Portrush for the 2025 Open Championship."
