Copper Box Arena, one of London’s high-profile multi-use event venues, has announced a new tender for a catering partner.

The successful catering partner will deliver great value to event organisers and attendees as well as consolidate Copper Box Arena’s reputation as a top destination for sports, entertainment and large-scale events.

The new partner will work with event organisers to create incredible event experiences for guests at Copper Box Arena, which is managed by GLL, a charitable social enterprise and worker-owned cooperative operating under the community-brand Better.

Stuart Hutchison, general manager at Copper Box Arena said: “We’re thrilled to be seeking a new catering partner, combining world-class events with great value food and beverage options to strengthen the visitor experience. We aim to ensure our future partnership maintains our high service standards while providing the best value.”

In addition to providing a high-quality service with great value product options, a key outcome also sought by this expression of interest is to provide meaningful opportunity to the community – whether through employment, social inclusion, economic or environmental benefits.

This unique opportunity at an iconic venue demands a strong emphasis on customer experience, innovative product options and the ability to meet the needs of fans and event attendees.

Copper Box Arena is well-equipped with catering infrastructure, consisting of nine concessionary outlets and two spacious storage areas. Each outlet is furnished with essential connections for power and water to facilitate efficient food and beverage operations.

The venue’s layout and service connections are designed to accommodate high-capacity events, enabling quick setup and flexible adjustments based on event requirements. There are refrigeration units, cooking facilities, and storage areas included in the design, allowing operators to maintain product quality and manage inventory effectively. Additionally, the concession spaces offer opportunities for customisation and upgrades, ensuring that operators can enhance customer flow and optimise service speed (full technical details can be found in the related tender document).

Copper Box Arena and its new partner will share a commitment to sustainability, community engagement and promoting Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a vibrant hub for sports, entertainment and tourism. The partnership aims to strengthen the area’s position as a leading destination for unforgettable events.

Copper Box Arena recently secured a bronze award for the Most Versatile Venue at the Conference & Events Awards 2024. The venue has hosted major international sporting events that include boxing, netball, basketball and tennis (Billie Jean King Cup) amongst others such as high-profile esports events like League of Legends and Rocket League as well as hosting Bauer Media, Mace Awards, GT7 Launch, Fiat 500x Launch, and H&M.

If you’re interested in bidding as part of this tender, please submit an expression of interest to Kristina.Johansson@GLL.ORG before 24/01/25 and an information request form will then be shared with your business.
