The four-AA-star Varsity hotel & spa in Cambridge has invested £2m to open a 120-cover skyline bar and restaurant next month.
It will be housed on the sixth floor, below the hotel's rooftop garden, and will remain open throughout the year.
Opening at the end of April, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a weekend brunch offering.
The dining space will feature floor to ceiling windows and two terraces to provide diners with views of Cambridge's historic architecture.
Roberto Pintus, general manager of the Varsity, said: "We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of a brand new bar and restaurant in Cambridge. This opening will add at least 40 jobs to the local economy and will provide the city with a brand new dining destination and a completely new offering, giving both locals and our hotel guests incredible food and beautiful views in equal measure."
The Varsity's views have previously attracted the likes of the Beckhams, Daniel Craig, Colin Firth, Rachel Weisz, Jeremy Irons and Ralph Fiennes, as well as the families of Royal households.
