Hilton Worldwide will launch its first Curio branded property in the UK next year, after signing a franchise agreement with Shiva Hotels.
The Canary Wharf hotel will feature a gym, organic deli, fine-dining Indian and Mediterranean restaurants, a roof terrace, two bars including a lounge bar at mezzanine level, and space for meetings.
Curio â" A Collection by Hilton was launched in 2014 and includes upscale and luxury hotels with a unique character.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide, said, âLincoln Plaza London, our first Curio â" A Collection by Hilton in London, will be a unique destination in its own right as the hotelâs interior design draws inspiration from the locationâs strong industrial heritage and modern architecture of the wider development.
âWith its striking architecture and strong business market we anticipate high demand for a hotel of this calibre. Our excellent relationship with Shiva Hotels, having worked with them in opening a number of other properties across our range of brands, ensures they are the ideal partner to introduce the first Curio hotel to the UK.â
Dianna Vaughan, global head, Curio â" A Collection by Hilton said, "Having introduced Curio to Europe earlier this year with the opening of Reichshof Hamburg, weâre thrilled to be bringing the brand to the UK. I canât think of a better debut hotel than Lincoln Plaza London. Guests are going to love its stunning design and superb location, which will help define this growing collection of independent hotels.â
Shiva Hotels, founded by former Lehman Brothers derivatives trader Rishi Sachdev, is believed to considering the sale of two Hampton by Hilton hotels at Waterloo and Gatwick, as well as the DoubleTree by Hilton at London ExCel and the Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5.
