Scott Hallsworth to open Kurobuta residency in Harvey Nichols

Chef and restaurateur Scott Hallsworth is to set up a residency of his Kurobuta restaurant at Harvey Nichols in London later this year.

The ex-Nobu chef will take over the former Fifth Floor restaurant space, and transform it into a Japanese izakaya.

Kurobuta already has permanent Kurobuta sites in Chelsea's Kings Road and Marble Arch.

The new residency will offer tapas-style plates are served to accompany drinks in a casual setting.

Dishes will include Hallsworth's signature of BBQ Pork Belly in steamed buns, soft shell crab tempura maki with kimchee mayo, tea-smoked lamb and the ‘Junk Food Japan' menu.

Harvey Nichols group food and hospitality director, Marion Carpentier said: "Kurobuta is one of the most exciting dining experiences to hit the Capital in recent years and we are thrilled to have Scott and his team on board to transform our former Fifth Floor Restaurant space. Contemporary and cool in equal measure, the restaurant will perfectly complement Harvey Nichols' Food & Hospitality offering, bringing a flavour of the Far-East to customers."

Hallsworth added: "I'm a huge fan of Harvey Nichols and am blown away to be invited to set up Kurobuta on the famous Fifth Floor; this is the perfect place to unleash a bunch of new dishes that I have been working on. This is a very cool brand to be partnering with and we have some very cool new ideas for this Kurobuta."
