Police are continuing to search for the killer of a 17-year-old youth whose headless torso was discovered in the swill bins of the New Central Hotel, in Blackpool, last week.
General manager Peter Falkingham, who found the body in a hold all on 30 January, said the grim discovery had cast a shadow over New Year celebrations. The 54-bedroom hotel was full at the time with 108 guests.
Guests were told only that a major incident had occurred and the hotel remained open while police searched rooms. Staff were also questioned in detail, but the hotel is not thought to have had anything to do with the incident, said Falkingham, who has worked at the hotel for 12 years.
The victim, Christopher Hartley, is understood to have worked at the nearby Blackpool Pleasure Beach during the summer.
