WSH Restaurants to relaunch former site of Monica Galetti’s Mere

The new modern British restaurant from the Woodspeen owner is expected to launch in early spring.

WSH Restaurants has revealed plans to open a restaurant in the former site of Monica and David Galetti’s Mere in London’s Fitzrovia.

Mere opened in 2017 as the first standalone joint project for the Galettis, who met while working at Le Gavroche in London’s Mayfair.

The project was backed by Alastair Storey, chief executive of catering company WSH, and marked the business’ first foray into restaurants.

The new restaurant at 74 Charlotte Street is scheduled to open in early spring 2025 with a modern British menu.

WSH Restaurants’ announcement comes eight months after Mere’s closure in April this year.

More details on the restaurant’s kitchen team and menus will be available next month, according to a spokesperson for WSH.

It comes soon after WSH Restaurants launched the Braywood (pictured) near Maidenhead last month in the former site of the Royal Oak at Paley Street.

The restaurant group also operates the Woodspeen near Newbury, which previously held a Michelin star, as well as the Sparsholt in Oxfordshire and the Clockspire near Sherborne in Dorset.

WSH is also the parent company of hospitality brands including Benugo, Searcys, BaxterStorey, Holroyd Howe and acquired Genuine Dining in September.
