Who's Cooking Dinner? aims to take fundraising total to £9m in 21st year

Tom Kerridge, Ashley Palmer-Watts, Clare Smyth, Jackson Boxer and Jean-Luc Mongodin are among the chefs taking part in this year’s Who’s Cooking Dinner? fundraiser at the Dorchester hotel in London’s Park Lane on 2 March 2020.

Now in its 21st year the event, which was established by restaurateur Chris Corbin and chef Peter Gordon, is hoping to take its fundraising total for the fight against leukaemia and blood cancer to more than £9m.

Guests will be left in the dark about who will be cooking their dinner until the moment they take their seats. At this point chefs are allocated to one of 20 tables and will prepare a bespoke four-course menu paired with wines.

Following dinner a series of money-can’t-buy gifts and experiences, including private meals cooked by some of the chefs, will be bid for in a live auction.

Corbin and Gordon established Who’s Cooking Dinner? after both being personally affected by leukaemia. Corbin was diagnosed at the age of 38 with chronic myeloid leukaemia, and Gordon donated bone marrow to save his sister’s life after she became ill with the disease. The pair have said they have no plans to scale down their fundraising mission, with all proceeds going to Leukaemia UK.

The chefs announced so far are: Jackson Boxer, Brunswick House and Orasay, both London; Ashley Palmer-Watts, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, London; Clare Smyth, Core by Clare Smyth, London; Tom Kerridge, the Hand & Flowers, the Coach and the Butcher’s Tap, all in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Kerridge’s Bar and Grill, London, and the Bull & Bear, Manchester; Francesco Mazzei, Sartoria, Radici and Fiume, all London; Jean-Luc Mongodin, the Arts Club, Liverpool; José Pizarro, Pizarro Restaurants; Issac McHale, the Clove Club, London; and Jean-Philippe Blondet, Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester, London.
