Waka to open first London site

Waka a grab-and-go restaurant serving Nikkei cuisine will open in the Square Mile at 39a Eastcheap, London, this September.

 

Nikkei - a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine- will be available to take away from Waka and typical dishes will be priced from around £4 to £7.

 

Those wishing to eat in will be able to in the 60-cover basement dining area.

 

The menu will feature a selection of hand-made sushi dishes, gyoza, tiraditos and hot options, among them Waka's tamari-glazed fried chicken wings.

 

Dishes include: sea bass ceviche with wasabi leche de tigre; hot chicken teriyaki rice bowl with Peruvian purple potato; salmon tiradito with apple and passionfruit sauce; beef and queso andino tataki, truffle mayo; Kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) and beetroot salad with rocoto dressing.
