Saorsa 1875, which claims to be the UK’s first fully plant-based hotel and restaurant, has been put up for sale for nearly £1m.

The 11-bedroom boutique property was opened in 2019 by owners Jack McLaren-Stewart and his parents Sandra and John, all of whom are vegan.

At the time of the launch, the hotel was powered by green energy company Ecotricity and offered guests plant-based dining and vegan toiletries.

Saorsa 1875 is located in a detached Victorian gothic building in Pitlochry and is surrounded by approximately 1.8 acres of private gardens and woodland grounds.

It also features a lounge bar, private dining room, restaurant, and yurt for hosting yoga and wellness retreats.

Graham + Sibbald is marketing the hotel. New owners can continue and expand the existing vegan business or introduce a broader offering.

At the time of writing, Saorsa 1875 is still taking bookings. *The Caterer* has reached out for comment.
