London-based Urban Pubs & Bars has acquired 13 sites from the Barworks group.
The deal, which will expand Urban Pubs & Bars’ portfolio to 34 sites, includes the Exmouth Arms (pictured) in Exmouth Market, Singer Tavern in Moorgate, and Harrild & Sons in Farringdon.
Barworks, which was founded in 1998, will be left with six London venues.
Urban Pubs & Bars was founded by Nick Pring and Malcolm Heap in 2014 and also acquired the Salt Yard Group of restaurants in 2018.
Pring said: “We’ve known the guys at Barworks for many years and are delighted to be able to acquire so many iconic pubs that complement our existing estate perfectly.”
TLT advised Urban Pubs & Bars on the deal. Alice Gardner, partner at TLT, said: “There is strong market activity in the leisure, food and drink sector right now, with buyers wanting to grow their portfolios and strong private equity investment.”
