The 131-bedroom Trafalgar St. James London hotel has joined the Curio Collection by Hilton following a full refurbishment, making it the first Curio hotel in the UK.
Overlooking Trafalgar Square, the former Trafalgar hotel has joined Hilton's global 35-strong collection of upper upscale properties. The 129-bedroom Lincoln Plaza London hotel, expected to open in late 2016, was slated to be the UK's first Curio, however the opening has been delayed.
The Trafalgar St. James now features bedrooms with iconic wall art celebrating London's music idols, as well as all day Mediterranean dining with a London twist at the Trafalgar Dining Rooms, and an underground lounge called Biblio.
The hotel's rooftop bar is set to open in October, with a lounge and dining area and a menu of small plates and healthy eating options. Complete with alfresco and canopy-covered seating, the space will feature an open fireplace, heaters and blankets during the cooler months. Room - a glass-enclosed, 14-cover private dining room - will also be available for hire.
Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton, said: "The remarkable hotel is an ideal addition to our expanding global collection of distinctive hotels and resorts, providing travellers, residents and Hilton Honors members the opportunity to discover central London in a unique and memorable way."
Joanne Taylor-Stagg, general manager of the hotel, said: "The opening of the Trafalgar St. James signifies an exciting new chapter for the hotel, in one of the city's most famous locations."
