Michelin-starred restaurant Adam's in Birmingham has appointed Tom Shepherd as head chef.
Shepherd joins from the Development Kitchen, a pop-up restaurant concept which he runs with his friend and colleague Adam Degg.
His previous experience includes stints at the two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham and Michael Wignall the Latymer at Pennyhill Park in Bagshot.
Adam's is owned and run by Adam Stokes and his wife Natasha. It started life as a pop-up restaurant before the couple secured a 50-cover permanent home on Waterloo Street in January 2016.
Stokes said: "We are really excited Tom is joining the restaurant and looking forward to progressing together, we feel his food ethos and management style will really suit the restaurant."
Shepherd, who begins the role tomorrow (1 August), told The Caterer: "I'm absolutely over the moon with the position and can't wait to get started. It's the perfect platform for me to take my career to the next level. I've worked in some of the best restaurants and kitchens in the country with some of the best chefs, and at 29 I was looking to strive further. I'm a Birmingham born lad and Adam's is in my home town. It's a stunning restaurant, with an amazing kitchen, and a very young, energetic and enthusiastic team - it is just perfect for me to push on from the get go."
