Tom Kerridge heads to Manchester to oversee Stock Exchange hotel

Tom Kerridge has announced a move to Manchester with the chef set to oversee the food and beverage operation of the Stock Exchange hotel.

The hotel will be opened by GG Hospitality, the hotel and restaurant firm backed by former Manchester United footballers Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, in the fourth quarter of the year.

Kerridge said: "This is a really exciting opening for us. The hotel is going to be stunning and we're very happy to be working with GG Hospitality. We can't say much at this stage, but I can say that we'll be bringing a bit of Marlow up to Manchester. We are very much looking forward to being a part of the city and joining the exciting and vibrant Manchester food scene."

The 2017 Catey Chef Award winner has said the offering will draw from his Marlow restaurants, Michelin-starred pub The Coach, the Butcher's Tap, and two Michelin-starred The Hand and Flowers.

Stock Exchange MCR will be the second hotel for the former Manchester United footballers, following on from the launch of Hotel Football in 2015. The 41-bedroom property will launch in the city's Grade II-listed, Edwardian Baroque-style former stock exchange building, two years after the purchase of the historic property.

The original banking hall will be the centrepiece of the main restaurant and the property will be available to hire as a conference or wedding venue. Described as a luxury boutique hotel and a departure from Hotel Football.

The Manchester opening will be the second hotel restaurant for Kerridge, following Kerridge's Bar and Grill in the Corinthia, London.
