A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors

Great House at Sonning

The Great House at Sonning in Berkshire has reopened following an extensive refurbishment. The boutique hotel has 49 newly renovated rooms and a Coppa Club restaurant and bar set inside a Grade II-listed former Elizabethan coaching inn and surrounding red brick buildings.

The rooms are split into five categories: Cosy, Relaxed, Deluxe, Deluxe River View and Suites, which includes a mixture of suites and family rooms, each with a dedicated ‘Kids Corner' with toys and books. There are also several dog-friendly rooms featuring dog bowls, blankets and treats, while home comforts such as fresh milk and water, radios, flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi are in every room.

The Great House Lodge, a new, fully equipped events space, will also be opening as part of the relaunch. It comprises five interconnecting rooms and will cater for corporate meetings, weddings and other special occasions.
