This week's new openings: Dakota Deluxe Leeds, the Foundry Project, Yolk and more

A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors

 

Dakota Deluxe Leeds

 

Dakota Deluxe Leeds, the brainchild of Ken McCulloch, founder of Malmaison, has opened, along with its brasserie-style Grill and Salon Privé, a cocktail bar with a first-floor terrace.

 

The hotel is touted as a "step up" from its sisters in Glasgow and Edinburgh, with more elegance and larger bedrooms, and the building is the focal point of Evans Property Group's £25m investment into rejuvenating the Bond Court area of Leeds city centre.

 

The Grill offers steaks cooked simply on hot coals, fresh fish and desserts, and a wide-ranging wine list. Bedrooms are fully air-conditioned with a smart TV and media hub, including full Sky HD package, complimentary high-speed internet and ensuite bathrooms with monsoon showers and bespoke toiletries.

Sisu

 

Sisu rooftop cocktail bar, from the team behind last year's #NotchLDN, has opened on Oxford Street in London. The space has been transformed into an urban oasis with a ‘greenhouse' street food restaurant.

The Bothy

 

Drake & Morgan has opened the Bothy in London's West India Quay. The restaurant is spread over two floors with a riverside terrace and external bar, and the original warehouse timber beams, floorboards and flagstone flooring have been retained and restored.

The Foundry Project

 

Revere, the premium arm of Marston's, has opened the Foundry Project on the Ginnel in Harrogate, Yorkshire. The new bar focuses on cocktails, craft beers, Caravan coffee, ales, local draughts and wine, with a selection of sourdough pizzas, burgers and sharing platters available.

Trawler Trash

 

Fork & Blade, the group behind the Black Penny and Firedog, has opened its third dining concept, Trawler Trash in London's Islington. The restaurant focuses on lesser-known fish, such as pilchards, coley, sprat, grey mullet and crayfish, from British suppliers.

Water Lane Boathouse

 

Occupying a former shipment warehouse, Water Lane Boathouse, from the team behind Belgrave Music Hall and Headrow House, has opened in Leeds. Food is from Small Victories Sourdough Pizza and Bakery and there is a selection of beer, natural wine and gin.
