The Nero Group has bolstered its transport business with its acquisition of the London-based FCB Coffee.

FCB Coffee started as a kiosk in 1998 and has since grown to 11 sites in transport hubs across London and the South East.

The Nero Group now has more than 50 locations in train and underground stations across the UK.

It comes soon after the Caffè Nero owner completed its purchase of the Nottingham-based coffee brand 200 Degrees just last week.

Gerry Ford, founder and chief executive of Nero Group, said: “I’m very pleased to bring FCB into our group. Its stores offer commuters in transport locations very high quality coffee. This is part of our strategy to provide customers with premium coffee no matter where they might be. As the coffee market develops, we continue to be focussed on the premium, specialty coffee category.”

The Nero Group also owns brands such as Coffee#1, Harris + Hoole and Aroma and operates 790 stores in the UK.
