The Cock at Hemingford Gray wins big in the Good Pub Guide 2019

The Cock at Hemingford Gray has been named pub of the year by The Good Pub Guide 2019.

 

The Cock was described as "a first class, pretty pub in a delightful village" by the guide. The Hemingford Gray operation also received a Michelin Plate in the latest edition of the red book.

 

The Cambridgeshire pub is owned by the local Cambs Cuisine group, which also operates brands such as the Cambridge Chop House, Smokeworks and Millworks.

 

Other winners include the Plough in Kingham, Chipping Norton, which won dining pub of the year, and the Masons Arms in Cirencester, which won the new pub of the year.

 

The guide is in its 37th edition, and includes 5,000 pubs either branded as "main entries" or "worth a visit".

 

This year's guide, which was released today, includes 66 new main entries.
