Premium bar and casual dining operator the Alchemist is launching a new bar concept called Aether at Liverpool One this September.
The 1,600 sq ft, 40-cover bar will focus on cocktails and live music. Created by Nottingham-based interior design agency Macaulay Sinclair, Aether will "capture the glamour" of the 1920s and 30s jazz era and feature 21 cocktails focusing on the elements.
John Macaulay, director at Nottingham-based Macaulay Sinclair, said: "With the design for Aether there is a definite departure from the industrial and alchemy influences seen in the Alchemist venues around the country. The whole design is much softer, more sumptuous and more feminine than the Alchemist."
Aether will also have a performance area for musicians, and al fresco seating for 80 covers overlooking Chavasse Park.
Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Grosvenor Europe, owner of Liverpool One, added: âAether is very exciting and will add something quite special to Liverpool Oneâs thriving evening economy.â
Established in 2010, the Alchemist has 14 sites across UK city centres including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, with two sites opening in London at St Martin's Lane and Old Street later this year and next year, respectively.
The group secured £16m from Santander at the beginning of this year to support its continued growth plans across the UK. The Alchemist is backed by Palatine Private Equity, which supported a buyout from Living Ventures in 2015.
Cushman & Wakefield and Metis Real Estate Advisors acted for Liverpool One. Westmark Estates and Harlow Property Consultants both represented Aether.
