Team behind Flat Iron Square announce launch of new London food market

The team behind London's Flat Iron Square has announced plans to open an eating, drinking, shopping and art space in London Bridge.

Vinegar Yard will open on St Thomas Street on 3 April with art installations, pop-up shops, bars, street food traders and an outdoor garden space with seating for hundreds of people.

Food traders set to move into the space will include BBC TV's My Million Pound Menu winners Baba G's, who will serve Indian-inspired pachos and their signature ‘naanwhiches'; Up in My Grill who will serve Argentinian-inspired steak and chimichurri, as well as Nanny Bills who will be offering a selection of burgers and croquettes. Joining them will be Sugo, serving ciabattas filled with Italian meat and vegetable-based sauces, as well as Turnips, who will cross the road from Borough Market to serve risottos and juices.

Also at the venue will be coffee shop, the Gentlemen Baristas and a bar serving a revolving selection of local craft beers.

The site, curated and designed by Benj Scrimgeour, will be open through the day, seven days a week, with retailers offering vintage clothing, furniture, jewellery and antiques.

Installations have been created for Vinegar Yard by British sculptor Joe Rush of Mutoid Waste, who will have an on-site studio. Rush has been influenced by the film Mad Max, and is best known for his mechanical, mutant and monumental works made using scrap metal and discarded tools.
