A newly refurbished farm shop and catering facility is looking for a partner.
Following a £5m refurbishment, Greenmeadow Community Farm is set to reopen in 2025 and is looking for a partner to operate the catering, farm shop and venue events business.
Greenmeadow is a 250-year-old farm that has been run as a popular community attraction since the 1980s as part of Torfaen County Borough Council (TCBC). Following the Covid pandemic, the farm was closed to the public for a significant renovation to be undertaken, which will transform the venues and the visitor experience.
The farm is located in the heart of Cwmbran and neighbouring Newport, drawing visitors from the region, including those from Cardiff and Bristol, which are under a 45-minute drive.
We are looking for an experienced catering partner to run the farmhouse operation, which will include a new restaurant, farm shop/bakery and event venues, with a focus on the farm-to-fork vision and championing local produce. The farmhouse will be open to both attraction and non-attraction visitors as part of the experience, offering a great opportunity to realise new growth.
The facilities will be ready to operate, including a fully fitted farmhouse kitchen and venue fixtures and fittings, opening the opportunity for greater partnership working and contracting.
The venues include the farmhouse, which is a multi-use space, alongside the haybarn, which will become the leading space for meetings and weddings in Cwmbran.
It is expected that the full tender will go live on the Sell2Wales procurement system by 31 January 2025. Operational commencement expected mid-July
