Stuart Procter has been appointed chief executive of the Beaumont hotel in London’s Mayfair.
It is the first new role for the experienced hotelier after he stepped down as chief operating officer at the Stafford Collection in March.
Procter previously spent five years creating Hotel Football in Manchester with Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville.
He joins the Beaumont following a multi-million-pound investment to refurbish the Art Deco hotel’s original 72 rooms and add a further 29 rooms and suites.
Procter said: “As a young boy growing up in Blackburn, if you had a hotel in Mayfair on the Monopoly board, you won the game – and so it’s always been my dream to work in a hotel in this prestigious part of the capital.
“Now it’s time to put the Beaumont on the international map, putting service at the heart of everything we do, and creating some truly exciting food and beverage offerings in the process.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at the Beaumont and look forward to building our focus around creating those unique guest experiences, rooted in the very best of British hospitality.”
Richard Faber, director of Beaumont Hotel Properties, said the team were looking forward to “the next era of the Beaumont”.
He added: “Stuart has specialised in managing high-end hotel portfolios and hospitality projects throughout his career and as a result, his depth of knowledge and experience of the sector is second to none.”
Procter is also involved with several industry charities, including Hospitality Action and the Hospitality Industry Benevolent Organisation. He is also vice president of Debra UK, a national charity that supports people living with epidermolysis bullosa.
