Stuart Johnson will return to Mayfair's Brown's hotel this September to take up the position of managing director.
Johnson, named 2012 Hotelier of the Year, had been general manager of the five-red-AA-star, 115-bedroom, Rocco Forte hotel for 11 years before departing for in 2016.
During his two year's away from the hotel he took up the role of project manager for the group, overseeing the Westbund hotel in Shanghai, due to open in summer 2019, as well as serving as interim general manager of the Assila hotel, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Johnson joined Rocco Forteâs Brownâs hotel in 2005 and oversaw the £25m refurbishment and reopening of the property.
