Stuart Andrew has been appointed tourism minister by prime minister Rishi Sunak, replacing Life peer Lord Syed Kamall.
Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough in Yorkshire, was congratulated on his appointment by UKHospitality chief executive Kate Nicholls.
She said: "Congratulations to Stuart Andrew on becoming Tourism Minister - look forward to working with you to implement Govt Tourism Recovery Plan to deliver jobs, growth and investment across the visitor economy."
VisitBritain chief executive Patricia Yates, commented: "Delighted that the new tourism minister is Stuart Andrew looking forward to working with him to drive economic growth right across Britain.”
Lord Kamall had only been appointed to the role in September under Liz Truss' short-lived premiership.
Andrew's previous roles include housing minister and government whip.
