Springboard seeks intrepid volunteers for fundraising trek in Borneo

The call is out for hospitality professionals who are looking to undertake a challenge of a lifetime and at the same time help young people in need into the hospitality industry.

 

The Springboard charity's next annual fundraising trek, will take place in Borneo from 24 March to 5 April 2019, and is hoping to recruit 30 volunteers for the life-changing experience.

 

Involving a challenging climb more than 4,000m above sea level up Mount Kinabalu, the trek will be followed by a school building project in a part of the country that has few educational facilities.

 

The trip will cost £2,500, with participants expected to raise a minimum of £3,500 in donations to Springboard.

 

Previous Springboard fundraising treks have been undertaken in the Sahara, China, Nepal, Peru and India.

 

Money raised from the 2019 trek will help 70 people young, disadvantaged people overcome severe challenges by funding them to join one of Springboard's life-changing programmes which will help them secure a job in the hospitality industry.
