Sports stadia and conference venues to be used as mass vaccination centres

Several sports and conference venues will open as mass vaccination centres this week as the national vaccination programme accelerates.

The centres, which include the Nightingale hospital at the London Excel and Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, offer an alternative to GP and hospital services and can each deliver thousands of vaccinations every week.

The first seven sites are: • Ashton Gate, Bristol • Epsom racecourse, Surrey • Excel Centre, London • The Centre for Life, Newcastle • Etihad Tennis Club, Manchester • Robertson House, Stevenage, Hertfordshire • Millennium Point, Birmingham.
