Springboard launches afternoon tea fundraiser

Springboard is encouraging budding bakers to host fundraising events during Afternoon Tea Week to help the charity support people into hospitality careers.

Afternoon Tea Week is held from 10 to 16 August. To help encourage people to get baking, the charity has teamed up with Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith.

Leith said: “Springboard is a great charity, supporting the hospitality industry and helping young and unemployed people, including those that have recently lost their jobs, of which there are far too many at the moment.

“If you’d like to help, how about joining in with Springboard’s Afternoon Tea Week fundraiser? It will be a lot of fun and do a lot of good.”

Springboard has compiled ideas for fundraisers, including Leith’s recipe for an alcoholic tea-time cocktail, on its website, where details on how to donate funds raised can also be found.
