Soho House is to open its Mexican restaurant concept Maya on the roof of the Hoxton Hotel in London’s Shoreditch.
It will open on 17 May and be the first permanent UK site for Maya, which Soho House executive chef Giacomo Pettinari started as a pop-up at Soho House West Hollywood in 2019.
The London site, located on the seventh floor of the hotel, will be open to non-members and seat 80 covers seven days a week.
Maya’s menu will focus on Mexican cuisine with new dishes such as spicy tuna tostada with crispy leeks and chipotle aïoli; and mushroom quesadilla with chipotle mayo. Popular elements of the West Hollywood menu will also feature, including a ‘roaming guacamole cart’ that will prepare the dish table-side.
Prior to joining Soho House Pettinari spent more than a decade working in restaurants across Los Angeles and designed the menu based on his love of regional Mexican cooking, drawing on inspiration from his kitchen team.
The rooftop restaurant has been designed by the Soho House team and features greenery and natural touches and a banquette running across the back of the space.
An indoor area will be encased by a new glass structure, with a concrete and terrazzo bar and a mix of lounge seating, booths and dining tables.
