Simon Drake has been appointed general manager of the 155-bedroom Tamburlaine hotel in Cambridge.
He replaces Zac Pearse, who left the hotel within two months of the launch of the property, which is the first hotel development in the UK for the Dublin-based O'Callaghan Hotel Group.
His appointment follows two and a half years as hotel manager of Hilton's Conrad London St James hotel, as well as roles with the Lythe Hill hotel in Haslemere, Surrey; Taj Hotels; and GLH Hotels.
Drake said: "I am delighted to have been approached by O'Callaghan Hotels to head up their flagship property, and look forward to leading the team to make Tamburlaine Cambridge's luxury destination of choice."
Eoin Likely, chief financial officer for O'Callaghan Hotels, added: "We are very pleased to have the expertise of Simon on board, and are excited for what his knowledge and experience will add to Tamburlaine."
