The £5m new-build Sandburn Hall hotel in Flaxton, North Yorkshire, is on track for a May 2021 opening.
The hotel was initially developed by the late Mike Hogg, whose family continue his legacy. The 1,000-acre family-owned estate already offers an 18-hole championship golf course, the Grand Function Hall and Tykes restaurant. The hotel will have 40 bedrooms, including two suites.
The suites – the York and the Alderney – will offer views on three sides and balconies overlooking the hotel’s courtyard and landscaped lakes and gardens. The hotel will also feature Signature rooms, Lake Rooms and Premier/Courtyard Premier rooms designed by Rachel McLane, with most of these also overlooking lakes and open countryside.
The hotel's ethos focuses on a design-led approach, with country style, sustainability and an active lifestyle, with a wide range of leisure packages, including walking and cycling trails, to be launched in the new year.
Hotel director James Hogg said: “We’re crafting a brand new countryside hotel using fantastic raw materials, such as the natural green oak beams, which frame our triple-height lobby. We’re merging traditional and contemporary, with some of the rooms having exposed brick, and the whole building will be an echo to the trademark design of our existing meetings and weddings area, the Grand Function Hall and Tykes restaurant.”
