Rowley Leigh parts company with Prescott & Conran

Chef Rowley Leigh appears to have parted company with restaurant group Prescott & Conran after announcing on Twitter that he is no longer involved in Parabola at the Design Museum in London.

After being asked about the restaurant's opening hours on the social media site this morning, Leigh said: "I have nothing to do with that place now I am afraid."

Meanwhile, in his Twitter profile he describes himself simply as “cook at large”.

Leigh, who ran Le Café Anglais until 2014 and took charge of the kitchen at Parabola in September last year, declined to comment further when contacted by The Caterer.

Parabola opened in late 2016, at which point chef Graham Blower headed up the kitchen. He was joined by a series of rotating guest chefs, of which Leigh was one, along with Jeremy Lee and Martin Morales.

Prescott & Conran was founded by Peter Prescott and Sir Terence and Lady Conran but documents filed with Companies House show that Prescott resigned as a director in January this year, with his stake in the company transferring to Sir Terence.

In March, the company’s Covent Garden restaurant Les Deux Salons closed.

Prescott & Conran’s current portfolio includes the Boundary and Tratra at Boundary, both in Shoreditch; Parabola, Kensington High Street; Lutyens in Fleet Street; two Albion sites in Clerkenwell and Shoreditch; and the Château Boundary wine club.

Prescott & Conran has been contacted for comment.
