Rocco Forte Hotels sees strong revenue growth

Rocco Forte Hotels saw strong revenue growth in the last year, hitting £206.5m and increasing on 2017's £193.8m.

In the hotel group's financial results for the year ended 30 April 2018 filed with Companies House, Rocco Forte also reported an increase in profit before income tax of £4.3m to £11.9m during the period, while revenue per available room grew 10% on a like-for-like basis.

The group owns, leases or manages 16 hotels across the world, including two in the UK: Brown's hotel in London and the Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh, which both saw new F&B concepts introduced during the period (Beck at Brown's and Brasserie Prince at the Balmoral, pictured).

However, UK revenue was affected by temporary refurbishment closures at both hotels. Around £20m was invested across the group, particularly on the Hotel Savoy in Florence, Italy, and a large number of bedrooms, suites and public areas at the Balmoral. As a result, UK revenue was down from £45m last year to £44.5m.

In comparison, the group's Europe revenue was up from £131.3m to £139.2m, and revenue at the group's Russia properties (the Angleterre Hotel and Hotel Astoria, both in St Petersburg) was up from £17.3m to £21.4m.

Rocco Forte Hotels is expanding its portfolio, with new properties in Rome, Shanghai and Cairo under development.
