The Savoy names Rob Van Eyck as hotel manager

Rob Van Eyck is to join the Savoy in London as the new hotel manager from January 2025.

He will replace Russell Platt, who has left to take up a general manager role at the Cadogan, a Belmond hotel, in Chelsea.

Van Eyck will join from the Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Edinburgh, where he has been manager for the past three years and recently saw the property win two Michelin keys.

Originally from the Netherlands, he graduated from the Hague Hotel School and has worked in hotels including the Sheraton, Edinburgh and with Marriott in Rotterdam.

Franck Arnold, regional vice-president and managing director at the Savoy, said: “The Savoy is excited to be working with such a seasoned hotelier in the luxury space, bringing his extensive skillset and upmost understanding of guest needs.”

Van Eyck’s appointment comes ahead of the launch of a new restaurant at the Savoy and two retail offerings, include a florist, next month.

A refurbishment of the hotel’s rooms and suites started in August with the new look set to be revealed in August 2025.
