What was your best subject at school?
Geography. I loved learning how the land affects people’s lives
What was your first job?
I just realised as I answering this question that it was bakery assistant! I didn’t know I was going to be a baker then
What do you normally have for breakfast?
Fried eggs, bacon, pancakes
What do you do to relax?
Walk out in nature
Which is your favourite restaurant?
I love Little Duck the Picklery in Dalston, London
What’s your favourite hotel?
Hampton Manor! When I joined the team, I stayed in the cottage during quarantine. It is a gorgeous cottage with an Aga in the kitchen, very relaxing and calm
What is your favourite drink?
Gin and tonic
What is your favourite cuisine?
Italian
How would you describe your desk?
Clean. Very
Which person gave you the greatest inspiration?
When I worked as a food buyer, I met cheesemakers who not only tended their animals but their land too. I grew up on a dairy farm so I knew how hard their life was. I became a baker but they have always been my inspiration
Cast away on a desert island, what luxury would you take?
Pain au chocolat and a great latte
If you had not gone into catering, where do you think you would be now?
A software engineer
Describe your ultimate nightmare?
Walking into the bakery at 4am and finding out the fridge had broken overnight. The terror of not having any bread for the day!
When and where was your last holiday?
I was in the Alps in January with lots and lots of snow
