Tortilla, Wasabi and Drake & Morgan are among the latest operators to sign up with restaurant technology platform OrderPay, which says it can help venues open up safely and observe distancing protocols.
The app, which was trialled with Pret a Manger, Pizza Express and Five Guys last year, launches in July in line with restaurants, hotels and pubs being able to reopen.
The order and payment platform uses ‘tap and go’ technology so customers can serve themselves to reduce contact with staff and queuing, while beacon technology allows servers to identify where guests are sitting in a restaurant to facilitate easy table service.
OrderPay will be available in 6,000 venues when they reopen, including the Stonegate estate, Cote, K10, Chopstix, Dim T and Wildwood.
Co-founder René Batsford, a former McDonald’s Europe executive, said: “We’re so pleased to be partnering such an impressive and well-known group of operators and humbled to be playing such a central part in helping the sector restart and rebuild, and to be providing some of the answers to the immense challenges of safely and successfully operating amid the requirements of social distancing.”
