Restaurant charity StreetSmart has launched its 2009 campaign and is looking for operators to get involved.
The campaign, which will run in 18 cities and regions across the UK in November and December, raises money for the homeless by asking diners to add £1 to their bill.
Sponsored by Deutsche Bank, which covers all of the charity's administration costs, all proceeds are used for projects supporting people back to employment and sustainable independent living.
Last year 550 restaurants participated in the StreetSmart campaign including those of Michelin-starred chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Giorgio Locatelli, Anthony Demetre and Fergus Henderson. The campaign raised £435,000.
To get involved in this year's campaign, restaurant owners can sign up by entering their details at the StreetSmart website.
The 18 cities/regions taking part this year are: Bath, Bedfordshire, Birmingham, Brighton and Hove, Bristol, Cambridge, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Southend-on-Sea.
