Radisson Red to occupy Liverpool's former North Western hotel building

Lifestyle brand Radisson Red is set to occupy one of Liverpool's most prominent buildings which is to be returned to its original use as hotel following a £30m redevelopment.

A 202-bedroom hotel operated by the Radisson Hotel Group will open within the former North Western hotel building adjacent to Liverpool Lime Street station in the middle of next year. The property closed as a hotel in 1933 and since 1996 has been used as student accommodation for Liverpool John Moores University.

The redevelopment of the building will be undertaken by the building's owner, property development company Marcus Worthington Group.

Featuring a restaurant, bar, gym and events space, the hotel will become the second Radisson Red in the UK, following the opening of the first in Glasgow earlier this year.

Radisson Red is one of seven brands operated by the Radisson Hotel Group, which also includes Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson.
