The Olympics and Paralympics cost the UK pub and restaurant market around £55m in lost business, according to market analyst Horizons.
This figure equates to around 0.1% of the total eating out expenditure this year and is below the company's earlier estimate of around £75m.
Casual diners are believed to have lost £26m in revenue, while and fast food operators were down by £27m. Pubs are thought to have lost around £11m and hotels £14m, with concession restaurants and other operators located within Olympic venues seeing business increase by around £23m.
