The journey of a first-time hotelier in north Wales is to be the subject of a Channel 4 documentary, Escape to the Manor Hotel.
The 11-bedroom Plas Maenan Country House hotel near Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley reopened last month following a refurbishment by new owner Jane Harris, director of Jagel Enterprises,
Harris, who bought the property last year from Mark and Amanda Richards, said the refurbishment had included restoring the parquet floor back to its original condition and creating a new welcome area from an old office.
"We have also commissioned an extension to the front of the property, which will serve as a gin, fizz and cocktail bar, set to launch in spring," she explained.
Filming has already started on the Escape To The Manor Hotel series, presented by Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker and produced by independent company Freeform Productions.
Due to be transmitted later this year, the documentary will feature a series of individuals running hotels in historic properties. Plas Maenan is an Edwardian property transformed into a hotel in the 1950s.
Freeform Productions said it is looking for additional hoteliers to take part in the series. Interested owners should contact casting@manorhotel.tv
The sale of Plas Maenan was negotiated by Fleurets.
