Pip Lacey to launch Hicce restaurant at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross

Former Murano head chef Pip Lacey is to open her previously announced Hicce restaurant within the designer clothing store Wolf & Badger.

The 80-cover Hicce x Wolf & Badger restaurant, with an additional 35 alfresco seats, is to be launched at the new Coal Drops Yard development at London's King's Cross in the autumn.

The menu will include dishes created from a wood-fired fuel source, including grilling, steaming and smoking. Lacey and McIntyre, who will head up front of house, will serve homemade rye bread with seasonal cheese, cured meats and pickles; as well as fish, meat and yakitori cooked over holm-oak charcoal.

There will also be a bar area serving locally crafted beers and cocktails, as well as a concise wine list sourced from small batch, independent producers and featuring biodynamic and organic wines.

Lacey said: “To be part of a development like Coal Drops Yard is an incredible opportunity and to have a partnership with Wolf & Badger makes this move all the more special. Gordy and I have been working to open our own restaurant for many years so this is an absolute dream realised for me and I cannot wait to get into the kitchen.”

Coal Drops Yard is a new Heatherwick Studio-designed shopping and lifestyle district. Hicce will join the likes of Tom Dixon, Morty & Bob’s, Paul Smith, Le Chocolat, Barrafina and 50 other stores, restaurants and cafes in a set of historic buildings and arches adjacent to Granary Square and Regent’s Canal.

Henry Graham, creative director and founder of Wolf & Badger, said: “Pip and Gordy's passion for Hicce and its contemporary concept made them the obvious choice as restaurant partner for the new Wolf & Badger flagship. We are creating a unique, experiential destination at Coal Drops Yard and Hicce's menu, service and atmosphere will be an exciting addition to the space.”
