Philippe Gombert re-elected president of Relais & Châteaux

Luxury hotel marketing consortium Relais & Châteaux has re-elected Philippe Gombert as president for another five years.

His appointment was made yesterday during the general assembly as the association's annual global congress in Madrid. It will be the second term of office for Gombert, who has held the role of president for the past four years during which Relais & Châteaux has expanded its digital presence through the launch of an online magazine and an app, which has helped double the volume of sales.

Gombert, who owns Château de la Treyne in Lacave, France, heads up an executive committee and committee of delegates.

The UK representative on the committee of delegates is Malcolm Lewis, owner of the five-red-AA-star, 30-bedroom Longueville Manor, Jersey.

Founded in France in 1954, Relais & Châteaux today has 540 members worldwide, including 27 in the UK.
