Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ Casa in Bristol ‘closed until further notice’

Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ Casa in Bristol has closed "until further notice".

 

Casa opened in late 2022 in the former site of the Michelin-starred Casamia, which was launched by Sanchez-Iglesias’ parents in 1999.

 

The chef started working at Casamia aged 16 and successfully led the restaurant to its first Michelin star with his brother Jonray in 2009, which it retained until its closure in August 2022.  

 

Peter made the decision to relaunch the restaurant under a “more accessible” guise, serving more casual Italian dishes such as potato ravioli with Lion’s Mane mushroom ragu.

 

A notice on the Casa restaurant now reads: “At this moment, we are closed for future bookings. If you’re looking to book a restaurant, please check out our sister restaurant, Paco Tapas.

 

“All vouchers for Casa will be honoured at Paco Tapas. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact us at info@casamiarestaurant.co.uk.”

 

An automatic reply from the restaurant stated Casa is “closed until further notice”.

 

It added: “We would like to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful customers for their support.” 

 

Gift vouchers for Casa can still be redeemed at Paco Tapas in Bristol, which is listed in the Michelin Guide.

 

Regulars to the restaurant have started a Reddit feed speculating reasons for the closure.

 

Casa has been contacted for comment.
